Listen, I love a good brain-teaser as much as the next Trailblazer, but the Routine Divination puzzles on The Xianzhou Luofu tested my patience in ways I did not expect. My sense of direction is so bad that a compass would file a complaint. If your spatial reasoning has the structural integrity of a wet paper bag, congratulations—you are among friends. As of 2026, this three-day puzzle chain is still sitting in the Divination Commission, quietly judging anyone who walks in without a plan. I walked in without a plan. It did not go well. So I wrote this guide so you can suffer less than I did.

First Things First: How Routine Divination Works

Head to the bottom right section of the Divination Commission area, which unlocks during the main Xianzhou Luofu quest. Look for the unique puzzle icon, then talk to an NPC named Huixing. She will take you to the Matrix of Prescience, where a tile waits in front of you. Interact with that tile, and the puzzle begins.

Here is the gist: you see a shape on the screen, and you have a bunch of pedestals on the ground. You move the pedestals around until the layout matches the shape. Easy, right? Wrong. The game does not care about your feelings. It just wants those pedestals in the right slots. I will use numbers for the pedestals and compass directions for the slots, because saying “the one on the left” made me question my entire life.

Day One: The Gentle Warm-Up

Day one is basically the game patting you on the head and saying, “There, there.” You can knock out all three puzzles quickly.

Puzzle One

1. Pick up pedestal one and place it in the northwestern slot, left of the tile that started the puzzle.

2. Pick up pedestal two and place it in the western slot, left of pedestal one’s new spot.

Enjoy your Basic Chest. Do not get cocky.

Puzzle Two

1. Pick up pedestal one and place it in the third pedestal’s position. You will see an exchange option when you reach another pedestal.

2. Place the third pedestal into the second pedestal’s position.

3. Place the second pedestal into the first pedestal’s position.

This swaps the three marked pedestals and solves the puzzle.

Puzzle Three

1. Pick up the first pedestal and place it in the northwestern empty slot, left of the starting tile.

2. Pick up the second pedestal and place it in the northeastern slot, right of the first pedestal.

That earns you a Bountiful Chest. Huixing will tell you to come back later. The puzzle icon disappears, then reappears when your server time hits 00:00. Spoiler alert: the game expects you to sleep. I did not sleep. Do not be like me.

Day Two: The Difficulty Spike Hits

Day two is where Routine Divination stops holding your hand and starts pointing and laughing. Follow the steps carefully. I mean it. One wrong move and you will be staring at pedestals like they personally betrayed you.

Puzzle One

1. Pick up pedestal one and replace it with the third pedestal at the upper east-northeast slot. You now hold the third pedestal.

2. Place the third pedestal in the fourth pedestal’s location, west-southwest on the board.

3. Place the fourth pedestal in the empty south-southeastern slot, the one on the right at the bottom.

4. Pick up the second pedestal and place it in the south-southeastern slot, left of where you placed the fourth pedestal.

That gives you a Bountiful Chest. Two puzzles remain.

Puzzle Two

This one is the hardest in the whole series, at least in my humble and slightly traumatized opinion.

1. Pick up pedestal one and place it in the third pedestal’s location, the northwestern slot.

2. Exchange the third pedestal you are holding with the second pedestal in the northeastern slot, right of the starting tile.

3. Place the second pedestal in the empty southeastern slot, right below the first pedestal’s original location.

4. Pick up the fifth pedestal and replace it with the fourth pedestal’s current position on the left side, the western slot.

5. Place the fourth pedestal in the southwestern slot to finish.

Puzzle Three

1. Pick up pedestal one and place it in the south-southwestern direction, the left slot at the bottom.

2. Pick up pedestal two and place it in the south-southeastern direction, right of the first one.

3. Exchange the positions of the third and fourth pedestals.

Finish this and you get a Precious Treasure with two four-star Relics, 30 Stellar Jades, and other goodies. Finally, a reward that matches my suffering.

Day Three: The Grand Finale

Day three starts with another Bountiful Chest and ends with the final Precious Treasure. You are almost free.

Puzzle One

1. Exchange the positions of the second and fourth pedestals. The second goes to the east-southeastern slot, and the fourth goes to the slot right of the starting tile.

2. Pick up the first pedestal and place it in the south-southwestern slot, the empty one on the left at the bottom.

3. Pick up the third pedestal and place it in the south-southeastern slot, right of the first one.

Collect your Bountiful Chest, then talk to Huixing again.

Puzzle Two

1. Pick up the first pedestal and place it in the empty southeastern slot, the right slot at the bottom.

2. Pick up the second pedestal, the one with three rays joining into it, and place it in the empty slot in the middle of the board.

3. Place the third pedestal in the second pedestal’s original location.

4. Place the fourth pedestal in the first pedestal’s original location.

Puzzle Three

1. Pick up the first pedestal and place it in the slot right of the starting tile.

2. Pick up the second pedestal and exchange it with the third one.

3. Exchange the third pedestal with the fourth one, then place that fourth pedestal left of the starting tile.

Solve this, and you get the final Precious Treasure. Routine Divination is done. No more pedestals. No more compass directions. I have never been so happy to see a chest in my life.
